Cancellation and Refund Policy
This policy explains how cancellations, refunds, digital course access, consultations and mentorship programmes are handled when you buy from Open a Nursery UK.
Please read this policy carefully before purchasing a course, digital product, consultation or mentorship programme. By placing an order, you agree to the terms set out below.
4 January 2026
This policy is designed to be clear and fair. It does not affect any statutory rights you may have under UK consumer law.
Courses, downloads and templates may become non-refundable once access or download begins, where permitted by law.
Booked calls can usually be rescheduled with notice. Late cancellation may affect your refund.
The mentorship programme is a fixed support package, not a rolling monthly subscription.
1. Who this policy applies to
This Cancellation and Refund Policy applies to purchases made from Open a Nursery UK, including but not limited to:
- Online nursery courses
- Downloadable nursery documents, templates and resources
- Consultation calls and advice sessions
- Building visits and in-person support
- Nursery Business Mentorship Programme
- Any other paid digital product, service or support package purchased through this website
2. Your 14-day cancellation right
If you are purchasing as a consumer online, you may have a 14-day cancellation period under UK consumer law. This period usually starts from the day after the contract is made for services or digital content.
However, your cancellation rights may be affected if you ask for digital content or services to begin immediately, including access to online course materials, downloadable resources, consultation preparation, mentoring support, email support or other services that begin within the 14-day cancellation period.
3. Digital courses, downloads and templates
Many Open a Nursery UK products include immediate access to digital content, including courses, templates, checklists, policies, guides, training materials and downloadable resources.
Once digital content has been accessed, downloaded, streamed or made available to you after purchase, refunds are not normally available unless required by law.
This is because digital content can be copied, downloaded, viewed or used immediately. Where you request immediate access and acknowledge that your cancellation rights may be affected, you may lose your right to cancel once digital access begins.
Examples of digital access include:
- Accessing an online course
- Opening course lessons or modules
- Downloading a template, checklist, policy or document
- Receiving digital resources by email or through your account
- Accessing any members-only training content or resource library
4. Consultation calls and advice sessions
Consultation calls are booked time slots for advice, guidance and support. Once a consultation has taken place, it is not refundable unless required by law.
| Situation | Policy |
|---|---|
| You cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice | You can usually reschedule or request a refund for the consultation. |
| You cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice | You may only be entitled to a 50% refund because time has been reserved and may not be rebookable. |
| You do not attend the call | The consultation may be treated as completed and no refund will usually be available. |
| You want to reschedule | You can usually reschedule up to two times, provided reasonable notice is given. |
| The consultation has already taken place | No refund is normally available once the consultation has been delivered. |
5. Nursery Business Mentorship Programme Cancellation Terms
The Nursery Business Mentorship Programme is a fixed 6-month support package. It is not a rolling monthly subscription and it cannot be cancelled part-way through simply because you decide not to continue, your circumstances change, you have not used all sessions, or your nursery plans are delayed.
When you purchase the mentorship programme, you are securing access to a full package of support, which may include:
- Full access to the “Open a Nursery in Just 6 Months” course or relevant training materials
- Five 1-to-1 mentorship calls
- Nursery business plan review and feedback
- Ofsted pre-registration preparation and mock inspection support
- Holistic mentoring and email support during the programme period
- Personalised guidance based on your nursery plans, property, business stage and questions
Refunds after the programme has started
Once the programme has started, refunds are not normally available. The programme will usually be treated as started if any of the following has happened:
- You have been given access to the course or digital training materials.
- You have accessed, viewed or used any course content, templates, documents or resources.
- A mentorship call, consultation, business plan review, Ofsted preparation session or email support has been provided.
- Time has been reserved and support has been made available to you as part of the programme.
- You have received advice, guidance, feedback or personalised support connected to your nursery plans.
If you have not used all of your sessions, this does not automatically create a right to a partial refund. Unused sessions remain available during the programme period, subject to reasonable scheduling and availability.
Programme delays
Many nursery projects are delayed because of property searches, funding, local authority processes, Ofsted preparation or personal circumstances. These delays do not automatically pause, extend or cancel the programme unless this has been agreed in writing.
Where reasonable, Open a Nursery UK may agree to pause support or allow unused sessions to be used later, but this is discretionary and must be agreed in writing.
Payment plans
If you purchase the mentorship programme using a payment plan, the payment plan is a way to spread the programme fee. It is not a monthly membership or pay-as-you-go subscription.
If the programme has started, outstanding instalments remain payable unless Open a Nursery UK agrees otherwise in writing or unless cancellation/refund is required by law.
6. Cancelling before access or support begins
If you purchase a course, service or mentorship programme and then contact us before any digital access, downloads, calls, preparation work, advice, support or personalised service has started, you may be eligible to cancel within the applicable cancellation period.
To avoid confusion, please contact us as soon as possible if you believe you purchased in error and do not access the course, download resources, book calls or request support.
7. Reasonable deductions for work already provided
If a cancellation request is accepted after services have started, Open a Nursery UK may deduct a reasonable amount for services already provided, time reserved, preparation work completed, digital materials accessed, advice given or support made available, where permitted by law.
This may include deductions for:
- Consultations or mentorship calls already delivered
- Business plan reviews or written feedback already provided
- Ofsted preparation or mock inspection support already delivered
- Email support, advice or guidance already provided
- Course access, downloads, templates or digital resources already made available
- Administrative work, planning time or reserved availability connected to the service
8. Refunds for courses and downloadable products
Digital courses and downloadable products are generally non-refundable once access has been granted, content has been viewed, or files have been downloaded, unless required by law.
If you experience a technical issue accessing a course or download, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue.
A refund will not usually be provided simply because:
- You changed your mind after accessing the course or resource.
- You no longer plan to open a nursery.
- You did not complete the course.
- You did not use the resource after downloading it.
- You bought the wrong product but still accessed or downloaded it.
9. Building visits and in-person support
Building visits and in-person support require time, preparation, travel planning and availability. Once a visit has taken place, it is not refundable unless required by law.
If you need to reschedule, please give as much notice as possible. If a visit is cancelled at short notice, a reasonable deduction may be made for time, preparation and any travel-related costs already incurred.
10. What this policy does not cover
Open a Nursery UK provides guidance, training, resources and support. Purchasing a course, consultation or mentorship programme does not guarantee that:
- You will open a nursery within a specific timeframe.
- You will secure a property, funding, staff or Ofsted registration.
- Your Ofsted application or pre-registration visit will be successful.
- Your nursery will become profitable.
- Your local authority, landlord, lender, Ofsted or another third party will make a particular decision.
Any timelines, examples or outcomes discussed on the website are guidance only. Your progress will depend on your actions, circumstances, location, premises, finances, compliance, local authority processes and third-party decisions.
11. How to request a cancellation or refund
To request a cancellation or refund, please contact Open a Nursery UK in writing.
Please include:
- Your full name
- The email address used to purchase
- The product, course, consultation or programme purchased
- Your order number, if available
- The date of purchase
- The reason for your cancellation or refund request
Email: nurserycourseuk@gmail.com
We aim to review cancellation and refund requests fairly and respond as soon as reasonably possible.
12. How refunds are processed
If a refund is approved, it will usually be made to the original payment method where possible.
Refund timings may depend on the payment provider, bank, card issuer or finance provider used at checkout.
If you paid through a third-party finance or instalment provider, their own terms may also apply.
13. Changes to this policy
Open a Nursery UK may update this Cancellation and Refund Policy from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your purchase will usually apply to your order, unless a later version is required by law or is more favourable to you.
Questions before buying?
If you are unsure whether a course, consultation or mentorship programme is right for you, please ask before purchasing.
